I went to London 2 years ago. Also I went to Rodi ( Greece ), Barcellona and Palma de Mallorca ( Spain ), Lubiana ( Sloven ), Nimes and Montpellier ( France ) where I spoke english with the local people.
OT
@MrMazzar : have you ever been in an english speaking country ? or your knowledge of the language just comes from study and movies and watching basketball games ?

It is very difficult for a beginner( and also for more advanced people...) to follow movies in English -also subs written in English are very useful.
I know it, for this reason I told that the subs could be very important to understand what the actors do.

No, I did not read in English and I did not see the movie. I don't like Hugh Grant, my favourit actor is Matt Damon.
Thank you for checking (?)

Wow, I read this book two years ago, whether I was on(?) cruise.
Hi Marco welcome in this section of forum, I think enjoy myself is the only way for learnig any things.
whether I was on(?) cruise. = while I was on A cruise. Did you read it in English? Have you seen the movie version with Hugh Grant? in English, of course...!

I think that one of the best metod to learn english is to watch sports and films in english language. Perhaps, for the first time, it's better to watch the films with the support of the subs in italian language. I'm 18 and I love to watch Nba matches ( the first basketball league of the world ) with the original running commentary.

You're talkin' about LeBron James, who is a player of Miami Heat.

I remember that recently a basketball player reached the result of 20000 points but I don't remember who.

He's Kobe Bryant, my idol and the captain of the Los Angeles Lakers.
He's one of the best player ever, perhaps the best basketball player in activity.
Kobe won 6 Nba titles with the Los Angeles Lakers, my favourite team.
I'm the only stupid guy in Naples who doesn't sleep in the night to watch Lakers' matches. LOL

Hi Mr.Mazzar, thank you for your post. Who is in the picture?

Hi Marco welcome in this section of forum, I think enjoy myself is the only way for learnig any things.
I think the main problem is time. If you do something else in your life (and I guess you do) it's very hard to find time for improving your language so my advice would be: try to make it fun! Listen to your favourite English songs while you read the lyrics, read the news on English websites and so on...

Just to begin.
Wikipedia in English

"About a Boy" by Nick Horby, Penguin. Just to begin.
I think your main problem is you translate your thoughts from Italian, but you should write your sentences directly in English. You should listen to the sound of your piece of writing. Additionally, you should not create it word by word. A language has his own structures, and you must use them. It is also useful, when you speak, to divide your thoughts into meaningful groups of words.
Let's suppose, for example, I have to present myself. It's better I say “ Hi, / My name's Vittorio and / I'm 27 years old / well / actually I'm almost 28...” and so on, compared to saying “ Hi, / My / name / is / Vittorio / and / I'm / 27 / years / old / well / actually / I'm / almost / 28...”, where the slash is a pause.
The faster and more pleasurable way to learn the language constructions is, like Claudio wisely suggest, reading a book and/or listening to an audiobook. Any book is ok. For the audiobook, at the beginning, I suggest you to read the book meanwhile you listen to it.

Good idea claudio 86, I thought reading a text for learning: what do you recommend for beginners?
Good question… Something short and not advanced. Perhaps a book that high school student would read (by their own will).
Even better, a book you have already read in Italian, so that you are familiar with the plot and there is no risk to completely misunderstand important parts (this advice works for movies and TV-series, too).
"claudio86":
I don't wrote many personal information because I want to keep some privacy.
I didn't write. After the auxiliary "do", verbs are in infinitive tense.
I though "I don't write"...
"claudio86":
I don't want that my words are offensive.
That sounds very "raw". Perhaps "I didn't mean to be offensive" could be better.
Thank you!

"claudio86":
I suppose "intentionals" because the word is connected to your "mistakes" (that is a plural).
Adjectives have no plural form in English (that is, unless when used as nouns, like "my friends…").
My bad

"claudio86":
so I don't know If you are fine (I hope) or if I am an idiot (i know already this
).
I would use "whether" here: I don't know whether you are fine or I am an idiot.
I'm an idiot

"claudio86":
Technical English is (usually) very simple, maybe because is addressed to worldwide readers.
I confirm. I read several books about the Riemann $\zeta$ function and the language was simple. The math involved was next to impossible.
Good idea claudio 86, I thought give a text for learning: what do you counsel for beginners?
