... Looking forward to hearing back from Zero87 about his graduation! :D

Ok thanks! I'll take this opportunity into account.

fireball1
You'll have plenty of time to think about that, so don't rush... ;)
It's all up to you... I decided to prepare part of my Master's thesis in the US
(being accepted by my hosting supervisor and paid a monthly stipend during my stay),
but you may want to do something else, such as Erasmus or so.

marcosocio
Oh ok I see. And what kind of experience would you suggest? Studying one year abroad, prepare a master abroad or what? I ask because I'm still in high school and I have no idea of the wide range of opportunities I'll have in two years.

fireball1
It is definitely worthwhile, and I strongly recommend you to undertake it.
PhD corresponds to our "Dottorato di Ricerca", which is the highest educational qualification achievable.
I already own a Master's degree (our "Laurea Magistrale"). I still cannot figure out why in the US students
are allowed to enter PhD programs having just a Bachelor's degree, which is worth even less than our "Laurea triennale",
according to what I heard from some people in Academia, but on the other hand, they require
students from abroad to own a Master's degree...

marcosocio
Do think that a studying experience abroad is worth it? Does PhD correspond to our "Laura Magistrale"?

fireball1
Slow down, Marco... :-D I was there last year for just three months (but I would have
preferred at least 2 more) working at my Master's thesis.
Now I applied to the PhD program hosted in the Institute I had been working in,
and am waiting for the outcome. I'll probably head back there in August if they admit me
with an adequate fellowship/scholarship, but I shall make up my mind
whether to accept their offer or other PhD programs in France, Germany and Australia that I applied for. :)

marcosocio
Hey! How is it that everybody here has studied abroad? I thought it was an unusual habit but I'm changing my mind!

fireball1
Oh really? That's exactly what Mattia (wedge) told me the day before my first seminar at UT Austin, last year in January! :D

Interesting. Do you study piano like a autodidact or in a conservatory?

I've never played in a conservatory, however I attended a course for 6 years until I gave up last year due to the lack of time. Since then I've been playing by myself every now and then when I'm in the right mood to do it (eg when I want to relax). For what concerns the bass guitar, I've been playing it for 2 years as an autodidact. I started because some school mates and I had to perform a small show and they needed a bass player so I went for it. I found it really enjoyable so I decided to go on.

Anyway, let's change topic: music! I mainly listen to hard rock music and I play both the piano and the bass guitar. What kind of music do you like? Does anyone play an instrument?

I play (what a great word!) piano and I'm graduated on Conservatory five years ago, but university leaves me a very little time for play piano and my technique goes back (like a student of $8^{\text{th}}$ year or less)...
I like classical music, especially Bach's organ works (and some concerts), Chopin's piano works and others.

See you later: I passed in forum because I have a little spare time. Tomorrow I'll be graduated! :)

Good morning fireball,
what do you mean with "typo"?
a mistake on using keyboard? ("n" is further by from "t" than "r" or "y")

I just found a way to visualize barred text in a post.
You have to use these tags:

[strike] ... [/strike]

[strike]Barred text[/strike]

Yes. "n" is further from "t" than "r" or "y".
Just because I wrote about the correct use of "by" in my previous post,
it doesn't mean that you must use it whenever it comes to translating "da". :)
In this context, we deal with the location of an object,
and the distance of an object from another one is always expressed with "from".

I use to like any kind of music, depending upon the quality of the actual song I'm listening to.
By the way, let's take the occasion to signal this wonderful concentrate of classical music (just to be clear, the video is not mine, so I'm not advertising anything :-D).
At times, people tell me that I would be skillful at piano, but I'm too lazy... :-D

"gio73":
I would substitute that "with" with "by" and that "miss" with "misses", even though I suspect that, at least the second one, could have been a little oversight. ;)

Urca, our Marco lost a third person like me!
I think he was so taken by topic than he forgot.
I don't like football and so I said nothing about that. Can we change topic?
"Than" is used only in comparisons, but you probably already know this.
Indeed, I guess yours is just a typo and you meant "that". ;)
