The carpenter JAmes Burbage built the first theatres and the Curtain and they were circular and made up of three tiers. Over it there were the stage, the shadow and two doors for entrances and exits. Behind the stage there was an "inner stage" used for concealments. In the modern theatre actors are separated from the audience by a curtain and they appeared in daylight. The action was continous and the actors usually were improvised by busy men who usually do the woman parts.
