[math]1/5 x - 10/5 x = 9[/math]

[math]-9/5 x = 9[/math]

[math] x = 9 * (-5/9) = -5 [/math]

2)

[math]1/4(2x-1)=35/4x [/math]

[math]1/2x - 1/4 = 35/4 x[/math]

[math]1/2 x - 35/4 x = 1/4[/math]

[math]2/4 x - 35/4 x = 1/4[/math]

[math]-33/4 x = 1/4[/math]

[math]x = 1/4* (-4/33) = -1/33[/math]
