My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

One should preserve child's innocence and frankness in him.

Rainbow excites the poet.

Wordswoth wishes to die old, but still being able to appreciate the beauty of the world.

Wordswoth uses the shift in tenses to underline the past and the future action.

Children have natural wisdom which we tend to loose groving and becoming adults.But watching children we can obtain this wisdom.

Piety means respect for parents, but the "natural piety" by Wordsworth means respect for children.
