THE RED-HEADED LEGUE
One day at Sherlock Holmes’ door arrived a man asking for him. Watson opened the door and make his feel comfortable, after few minutes of chatting Holmes understood the man needed a help to understand what was happened about a mysterious job. The man began to explain how he started the job, telling that he had found on the journal a strange advertisement about a league of man with red hair. After he did interview the men that had done it said he was perfect, because his hair had got the color they needed. He had to write all Britain Encyclopedia. The job was very easy and well-paid but one day while he was going to the office for a normal day of work, he found a paper where there was written the office would be closed forever.
Holmes seemed very interested and asked for a night to think about. The following day Holmes and Dr. Watson went to Mr. Wilson’s shop. There they met the assistant, but immediately Holmes said that was time to come back home, Watson very incredulous followed the boss. The detective told him to meet to the bank about midnight. At twelve p.m. Holmes, Dr. Watson and the costumer went into the bank, after looking at the cracks between the stones of the floor, Holmes said that was time to wait and they must hide behind some boxes. After an hour the men heard noises and a saw a white light: there was Mr. Wilson’s assistant and another man. Holmes shot and after turning the lights on began to explain the case. The thieves organized the job to keep engaged Mr. Wilson while they dug the tunnel from the shop to the bank, that’s why suddenly the society closed, they finished to dig the tunnel to steal diamonds.

THE SPECKLED BAND
An early morning at Sherlock Holmes’ door went a very shaking woman, with pale face, Holmes opened the door and woke up Dr. Watson to listen to her. She apologized for the early time and began to explain why she was there. She had taken the train to London at six in the morning because Mr. Holmes could be the one who can help her problems with her stepfather. She began saying about her sister’s death. Holmes asked more about the death and the woman said she couldn’t sleep that night because she had had a strange feeling, after few minutes her sister had woken up and had gone to her room asking if she had heard whistling but she had heard nothing. After a short time she heard a terrified scream and she had jumped out of the bed to help the sister with her father but it was too late. She added she remembers the her sister’s last words about a ‘speckled band’ but she doesn’t know what she tried to mean. Holmes suggested to spend one night in the house, to understand the case. The young woman said to the men her stepfather ordered her to sleep in her sister’s room because her room needs restorations but Holmes had not problems for it. All of them went there and after visiting the house, Holmes went in a hotel that had a big window in front of the room. In the night Dr. Watson and his boss waited for a long but when understand that something strange was happening in the room went there. The men saw a snake and with a stick drove it. The snake suddenly went in to the ventilator and very fast, after two seconds they heard a terrified scream from stepfather’s girl’s room: the snake was around his head like a speckled band while the man was died.

ciao
