PER FAVORE, sono corrette queste 3 frasi in inglese?

vrijheid
Mi sapete dire qual è il tempo verbale che ho messo tra virgolette? E nell'ultima frase "presents" è corretto? Grazie a tutti

- However he also said that he would have helped him to enterprise a great career and was ready to do his best if Robinson "had held and settled" in England, on the contrary, if the young man had decided to follow his desire, his father "wouldn't have taken" any responsibility, because he hadn’t failed in his duty as a parent urging him not to make a harmful decision for his son.

-Previously, the father had also tried to persuade Robinson's elder brother to dissuade him from participating in the Low Country wars in the Netherlands, but the impetus youth of his son, however, had prevailed and led him running into the army, and was later killed.

-by the usual corruption of words "presents" in England, his name changed to Robinson Crusoe. Besides, the main character had two elder brothers, one of them was lieutenant-colonel to a britisch regiment of foot in Flanders.

Esatto tutto corretto!! forme verbali e corretta disposizione delle parole..

vrijheid
Va bene lo stesso "by the usual alteration of words in England"

Ma comunque i tempi verbali sono corretti così?

Anche nella frase: "because he hadn’t failed in his duty as a parent urging him not to make a harmful decision for his son." ?

Nella prima frase vi è il "past perfect" (had held and settled); poi " negative future perfect" (wouldn't have taken).
Nella seconda frase non vi sono errori e nell'ultima frase presents non è corretto perché non si trova nella posizione coretta all'interno della frase, sarebbe "by the usual corruptions of present words in England... "british"!
