"Robinson's father then urged his son to stay home and behave like a mature person, sconsigliandogli to seek unnecessary hardship through nature. The also said that he would help to take a great career and was ready to do his best if Robinson had held and settled in England, on the contrary, if the child had decided to follow his desire, his father did not would have taken any responsibility, since he had failed in his duty as a parent urging him not to make a decision detrimental to the child. Previously, the father had tried to persuade the elder brother of Robinson to dissuade him from participating in the war in the Netherlands (into the Low Country wars), but the impetus youth of his son, however, was prevailed and led him to enlist in the army (to run into the army), and was later killed. With this example, the father wanted to make it clear to Robinson that follow his inclination towards adventure could be harmful, and if he decided to take that step foolish not to receive the grace of God, and he would later regret having spurned his father's advice. Finally, the father decided to "broke off the discourse," because he was deeply moved by speaking of the fate of his two children, and Robinson realized how much his father cared for them."
