-Crusoe's father one morning called him into his chamber , in which lectured his son upon the importance of staying home and being content with his "middle state" in life. First he asked him why he wanted to leave the house and his native country, in which led a life of pleasure and ease. Then he told him that his was the middle station, that is according to his father the best state in the world. Was situated in the middle of the two extremes, namely had the fewest disasters and wasn't exposted to the hardships and sufferings as the lower part of mankind and hadn't to dealt the envy and ambition as the higher part. T his is what Robinson's father maintained and that's the way he admanished him to look for a quiet middle class life which all the people envied, including the kings who wished to had been placed between the mean and the great. So he could lead a prosperous existence, calm and quiet, and would not know the vices of the rich and the difficulty of the poor.



-After his father expressly forbade him to go to sea, and furthermore, promised to do good things for him if he stayed at home, for another whole year Robinson Crusoe settled at his house.But a few days ,wore it all off and he decided to go away. He tried to enlist the aid of his mother, pointing out that his father had better give him his consent than force him to go without it, and that he was now eighteen year old, therfore he couldn't go apprentice to a trade or clerk to an attorney. He futher said that if he came home again and didn't like the voyage abroad, he would work diligenty and make up for the time he might lose while at sea. His mother affirmed that he would never had their consent to destroy himself and that it was impossible to convince his father. Although she said this he knew that his mother was willing when his father wasn't.
