Domande sul film -Just Mercy-(Il diritto di opporsi):

Did you learn anything from this movie? If you did, what was it?
What is the message of this movie? Do you agree or disagree with it?
What did you like best about the movie? Why?
What did you like least about the film? Why?

In my opinion, it was a very beautiful film that struck me in the soul, where in some moments it involved me emotionally. The things I learned were many; the main message that the director, Destin Daniel Cretton, wants to give us through this film and with two actors who have played their roles to perfection (in my opinion... Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx), is, to reflect if (and how much) the judicial system is reliable and, above all, prudent, a thought that I share.
The highlight moments of the film were different but the prevailing one was the moment in which the death penalty was carried out with the use of the electric chair on a prisoner (Herbert Richardson / Rob Morgan). The finest and most emotional moment of the film was the dismissal of Walter McMillian's murder charges (in the final part of the film) and his return home to his family.

The personal qualities that help the protagonist solve his or her problem are often a part of the lesson to be learned in the film. What are these qualities and where have you seen them in your own experience, either in your own behaviour or in behaviour of someone you know?

The qualities that make the protagonist at the center of the story (in my opinion) are resourcefulness, the never give up and the courage. These qualities manage to make it achieve its purpose. Among the qualities that the protagonist has, I could only have the courage.

What motivates the protagonist in his or her struggle against the antagonist?
How does the protagonist work against the antagonist? Recount one specific episode in this struggle.

The main motivation of the protagonist (Bryan Stevenson) to fight against an abyss of impropriety and racial discrimination is mainly due to the fact of wanting to help people wrongly accused of acts they did not commit or because (as in this film and in real events in Alabama) are just black people or "Just look at his face" or even on the part of the protagonist to know what it's like to be born black in America and be labeled based on skin color.
So based on this we can say that the antagonist of this story are the people who discriminate against black people, to the point of falsely accusing them of crimes they didn't commit. With this, the protagonist fights head-on without being belittled by people who look at him badly, even managing to achieve his goal.

How do the sets, the costumes, the acting choice and the props contribute to the mood the filmmakers are trying to establish?

The sets, the costumes, the acting choice and the props were treated in great detail to make that the story was truly set in 1987 Alabama. In this the filmmakers and all the crew (in my opinion) made a good work.
