There are an estimated 300 to 500 million users and/or learners of English in the People's Republic of China[2].

It sounds funny but scary.
I daily work with Asian colleagues coming from South East Asia and China region, and the communication issues are quite big.
I will have to go to Cambodia in September, and our colleagues there speak a scarily poor english. It will probably be a challenge.
