Una cosa, in questa frase: I like speaking Italian to them (Maria's family)! ho usato il pronome plurale in quanto anche all'inizio vedo che hai usato live anziché lives; dipende però a cosa ci si riferisce, se alla famiglia come un gruppo, oppure individui separati all'interno del medesimo.
