It was such a big day but i don't remember very much. It's like an impressionist painting: shapes, colours, and smells and sounds too. But i was only five years old and it was a long time ago!
i walked to school with Mum and i cried all the way. ididn't want to go. i had a blue ruucksack and a big new box of crayons. The playground was full of noisy, excited kids. Some of the children looked huge- i never knew that i was so small! then a bell rang and everybody stopped running and went inside. how did everybody know what to do?
the walls were yellow and there was a horrible smell of soap everywhere. My teacher's name was Mrs bell. ("what a strange name!" I thought.) She wasn't very strict. in fact she was really nice but i didn't understand a lot of the things she said that day. Terms, timetables, registers, cloakrooms... What did she mean? And why was her voice so loud all the time? it was strange.
i don't remember what we learnt thet day. i think we sang songs and clappse a lot. Mrs bell read us a story and we sat cross-leggend on the floor. i was embarrassed because i didn't know how to do it! there was also an aquarium with ugly fish in it- another horrible smell.
"so, Kte, were you a good girl today?" dad asked me later.
"i don't konw" i said
"was it fun?"
"no! and mrs bell sai thatwe have to go back tomorrow!" i wasn't very happy.
"did you lear anything useful? numbers? colours?"
"dad! why are you asking me all these questions? didn't you go to school?"

E'stato un grande giorno, ma non mi ricordo molto. E 'come un quadro impressionista: forme, colori e odori e suoni troppo. Ma avevo solo cinque anni ed è stato molto tempo fa!
Andai a scuola con la mamma e ho pianto per tutta la strada. non volevo andare. Ho avuto un ruucksack blu e una grande scatola di pastelli nuovo. Il parco giochi è stato pieno di rumore, i bambini entusiasti.Non ho mai saputo che ero così piccolo! poi un campanello suonò e tutti smisero di correre ed entrarono. Come facevano a sapere tutti cosa fare?
le pareti erano gialli e c'era un odore terribile di sapone in tutto il mondo. Il nome del mio insegnante è stata la signora Bell. ( "Che nome strano!" ho pensato. no) Era molto severo. in realtà lei è stata davvero piacevole, ma non ho capito un sacco di cose che ha detto quel giorno. Termini, gli orari, i registri, guardaroba ... Che cosa voleva dire? E perché era la sua voce così forte per tutto il tempo? Era strano.
Non mi ricordo quello che abbiamo imparato in quei giorni. Penso che abbiamo cantato canzoni.la signora Bell ci ha letto una storia e ci siamo seduti sul pavimento. Io ero imbarazzato perché non sapevo come fare! C'è stato anche un acquario con pesci brutti in esso, un altro odore orribile.
" Kte, sei stata brava, oggi?" Papà mi ha chiesto più tardi.
"non lo so" ho detto
"è stato divertente?"
"No! e la signora Bell deve tornare domani!" Non ero molto felice.
"Hai qualcosa di utile? numeri? colori?"
"Papà! Perché mi fai tutte queste domande? non si va a scuola?"
