Present perfect simple & present perfect continous

Come faccio a capire se in una frase devo inserire il present perfect simple o il present perfect continous? Qual'è la differenza?

Il Present Perfect è quel tempo che si utilizza per parlare di azioni svolte nel passato, senza che il tempo venga specificato. Non si usa con espressioni relative al passato come ad esempio "last night", oppure "two weeks ago"; in questi casi si usa il Simple Past.

Si forma con:

"Soggetto + have + past participle", esempio:

"I've visited ten countries in my life"
Ho visitato 10 paesi nella mia vita.

Mentre puoi usare il Present Perfect, (e contemporaneamente indicare anche il tempo) assieme a for e since, per parlare di azioni cominciate nel passato e che proseguono tutt'ora, per esempio:

"I've lived in this country for six years"
Vivo in questo paese da sei anni

Il Present Perfect Continuos si usa per una azione che si svolgeva.

ex. I have been working here for 2 years/since 2011.
Steve has been working here since 2010.
I have been studying hard for this test.

Mentre il Present Perfect si usa quando:
1. Il tempo in cui l'azione viene espressa non è certo.
2. Se una azione svolta nel passato, è importante ora.
3. Quando hai fatto esperienza di qualcosa.

ex.
a. I bought a new watch this morning. (not important)
b. I have bought a new watch. Do you like it? (important)
c. I have been in London.(I don't know when...)
d. I have learnt to use this program(I made experience of something)
